Live, Land and Water

2014 Juried exhibition Teximus I

When felting, the individual wool fibers connect to each other in a chaotic manner on all sides; when weaving and braiding, the connection is structured. The idea was to unite these two opposites.
I defined five basic patterns and added them to a new whole in a kind of Tetris. Merging them new mixed forms are created.

In the red picture «Life», the individual patterns refer to living together in family and society.
The blue / green picture «Land and Water» refers to the coexistence of the different cultures which populate our world.

Both images have two fronts, one color dominating each one. One can hang them depending on one’s personal color perception.
