Felt-diary

Felt-diary-sketches

In February 2002 the first felt training started in the course center Ballenberg. I was happy to participate with 12 other women.

We were introduced to the historical background and the corresponding culture-specific felting techniques. We worked with all kinds of natural, native wool and explored their felting qualities and characters and with material samples and felt experiments.

My modular work after this week was the “felt diary” of which some pictures can be seen here.

For each participant, a strand of wool leads through the whole work. But as is the case with experiments, not everything succeeds, that’s why I didn’t insert the non-photogenic images.
