The artist is interested in structures on the surface, in transparency and density, in light and shadow, and also in spatiality. She experiments, researches and finds (invents) technical possibilities to create wonderfully light, airy works from the wool that never appear clumsy or stuffy. She also manages the feat of realizing very large works, which is rare in the art of felting. Felting requires a lot of stamina and physical effort.

In the 3-year course “Filzen” at the Kulturzentrum Ballenberg and in semester courses at the School of Design in Zurich (now the University of the Arts), the social worker and kindergarten teacher got the necessary tools for her work. Since her retirement she can now invest a lot more time in her artistic work.

The result is really impressive! Vessels, light objects, large and small sculptures, but also exciting structures in the surface impress the viewer – all in a sparse color. The artist is open to everything new, but always pursues her own themes very stubbornly. Her guiding principle is: “Felting is (inventing) finding what you are not consciously looking for”.
